Furtherfield
Furtherfield is an online platform for the creation, promotion, and criticism of adventurous digital/net art work for public viewing, experience and interaction. Furtherfield events and projects incorporate a strong participatory element and break away from conventional approaches to contemporary art. The projects are often live, real-time, collaborative artworks, facilitating and documenting unrestrained interaction and communication between artists and audiences online.
In an effort to become de-centralised and self maintaining, Furtherfield required an online platform where artists, members and contributors could help maintain content. Our bespoke CMS reduced administration, allocating valuable resources into the research of additional funding and the creation of pioneering experimental net-based projects.

The new Furtherfield platform enables critics and writers to publish regular and informative reviews of explorative projects, artworks and digital cultures. Each month latest projects are reviewed and selected to appear as featured works on the front page.
Invited artists may use the site to maintain their personal profiles, providing the ability to showcase their latest projects. Artists also have the opportunity to converse with members and other artists via the forums. Visitors are encouraged to engage in informative discussions about artist’s works and promote their own projects and events by posting on the public broadcast, a feature which now is now integrated with other collaborative online communities.
