HSI London

HSI London is a production company that represents commercial, music video and animation directors. The directors range from some of the most established international creative minds to fresh, exciting up and coming talent. In commercials, directors have delivered spots for Smirnoff, Playstation, Nike, H&M, Telewest, Guinness, BT and BMW. And in music, directors have worked with a diverse array of artists: from Madonna to The Streets, Beyonce to the Libertines, Sigur Ros to Robbie Williams.

This project involved the complete rebuild of an out-dated CMS and relocation of the site to be hosted on Paperheads servers. The HSI London website previously ran on a slow server and used a ‘hosted’ CMS, (no ownership rights on the CMS code to transfer to another server) in order to move to another server meant that a new CMS needed to be written.

As well as bringing the site up to date with the required needs of HSI, the new CMS offered additional facilities to reduce administration. Title images are dynamically generated from text input during administration, and a mass upload facility was added, allowing administrators to upload multiple movies at a time.

Other features include automated thumbnail generators, and edit in place administration. The site was also optimised for search engines, as previously search rankings were extremely poor.
